Landscape Editions Volume Nineteen - Matt Holland "Detox"

It all started 20 years ago but it’s only really in the last 5 years photography, expeditions and the outdoors have really combined for me. As an outdoors leader I end up working in a variety of conditions and enduring the elements no matter what. The weather is a big influence with any photography but especially in telling the story and capturing the difficulties we face on expeditions.

Getting off the grid for multiple days is an interesting challenge and when you are required to carry all your belongings on your back, you really appreciate what you do and don’t need. Restricting what you bring and not having the ability to charge most electronics and being in some extremely remote areas with lack of most basic means, let alone internet is an alien world.
